Guess what?...Chicken butt. I can't believe you guys actually fell for that one. No but really guess what? It's been oh a thousand degrees and super humid here. I get ready in the morning and step outside and all the sudden I have stringy poofy hair. So today I took measures into my own hands. I figured if I couldn't have amazing looking hair then I'd resort to a drastic self cooling method, RUNNING THROUGH THE SPRINKLERS!! I propose that nothing is greater than running through the sprinklers, nothing.

Have a great weekend everybody!!

A Whole New World

Clothing Details:
Blazer: Thrifted
Skirt: DIY
Shirt: Target
Shoes: Target
Necklace: Charlotte Russe

Sir Matt was apparently having a great time taking my pictures because after we were done he saw some hoodlum bike riders in a parking garage and gave them a sneak peak of his latest talent, belting A Whole New World with hand gestures. The best part. I stole the camera and have proof.

Jewelry Frame DIY

I've needed some place organized to put all of my earrings but I also wanted it to be really cute. So this is what I came up with. It's so so easy... unbelievably easy so stick with me and if you have a frame that you want to use then it will cost oh... one dollar.

You'll Need:
One Frame (without the glass)
Felt (enough to do one inch strips around your frame)
Tulle (the size of your frame)
A glue gun and glue

1. Cut your tulle the size of your frame

2. Starting with the short end glue one corner of the tulle to the frame and then pull it tight so there is no slack or wrinkles and glue it to the other side. Then add smaller dots of glue in between the corners. Do this until the tulle is glued all the way around the frame. Then trim the rest of the tulle so that it can't be seen behind the frame.

3. Cut out one inch strips of your felt

4. Glue the felt strips to the frame where the tulle ends to secure the tulle on the frame.

5. Stare at your beautiful creation in awe and then go hang your beautiful jewelry on it and enjoy!!!

The Secret Garden

Clothing Details:
Shirt: Thrifted, Ralph Lauren
Skirt: Charlotte Russe
Necklace: Wet Seal
Shoes: my wedding shoes!!!

Sir Matt has convinced me to start doing this workout called P90-X with him. It should be called shoot me now-X because I can't move a muscle. You know how kids make up reasons of why they can't go to school. I'm going to start making up P90-X reasons. Reason #1 I'm pretty sure I stubbed my pinky toe, Reason #2 I have a really bad head ache, Reason #3 I HATE P90-X!!. I'll stick through the pain for now but if this soreness doesn't go away I might resort to drastic measures.

I have something really cool up my sleeves tomorrow. I'm so excited about it!!!!

Sir I'm Going to Have to Ask You to Exit the Donut.

Clothing Details:
Shirt: TJ Maxx
Jeans: BKE
Shoes: Target
Bracelet: DIY
Headband: DIY
Necklace: Forever 21
Belt: Thrifted

My husband snagged these shots right outside a Mexican restaurant before we went to see Iron Man 2. I'm well aware that Iron Man 2 came out like oh, ages ago, but well...I'm cheap so our theater is non other than the dollar theater. Taking these shots at the restaurant was shall I say...awkward. People wolfing down their burrito as I do a cutsy pose, no thanks. Just kidding we took them on the patio so only the people outside were creeped out. Ok just kidding again we weren't even in the restaurant. Either way the people got both a show and dinner for their money right?

And the Winner is.....

Christa from EnSTYLEpedia!!! Congrats Christa. E-mail me your address and I'll get your golden lusciousness to you right away! Enjoy.

Introducing....The Lauren Headband DIY

Caution to all readers: The Lauren Heaband will take over your head. In the summery heat it holds back your hair wispys with leathery fashion so that you can freely drive with your windows down, your hair in the summer air at 80 MPH, and without worrying about your locks of love. Headbands are really the best in the summer because their cute and flirty and they keep that hot hair out of your face. This is seriously the cheapest and easiest DIY ever. Here's the link. I'd love to see your guys' completed headbands! Good luck!

*P.S. This can all be done without a sewing machine. The part where they attached the elastic I just did the sewing by hand and it's much sturdier and thicker than it would have been with a machine!

Brain Mushing

Clothing Details:
Shirt: Thrifted
Skirt: Sistered
Shoes: Thrifted
Shoes: Thrifted
Belt: Thrifted
Pin: Inherited

I just signed up for Netflix and I think it's destroying me. Because of the dang instant play they provide I just watch thousands of wonderful brain mushing movies. I've been watching a lot of World War II films in particular though...and today I realized I'm copying styles in the movies. I look like a World War II girl that just kissed her soldier goodbye. I watched Greece last night so who know what tomorrow holds??

Girl In The Little Blue House

Clothing Details:
Dress: Kohl's
Sweater: Forever 21
Shoes: Kohl's

I have a confession to make. I've had this dress since high school. Long story short I was a sasquatch when I was younger. I was done growing when I was thirteen. Imagine it people. A 5'8'' sixth grader....I know sasquatch. However, laugh it up because I stopped growing out of my clothes therefore plethora of goodness. Aside from a very awkward year in middle school where I liked be-dazzled things I have lots of really cute clothes. Take that normal kids that laughed at me for being double the height of the smallest boy....okay I'm still recovering a bit.

Gangsta!!

I felt like an utter gangster with my gold chains swaying all day. This belt was a total steal. I found it at a thrift store for like a dollar. At first it had these two other chain layers hanging from it that made it look like a golden fanny pack (very tempting to keep it that way) so I took the other layers off and made the necklace out of the fanny pack portion of the belt! I like how it turned out. It gave a little swagger to my walk:)

You may be wondering why I had a sudden desire to have a diva pose in the last picture. A car drove by blasting some Bieber song so I had to let my innermost diva out. It escapes from me when I least expect it...what can I say.

And Then There Was...A Bracelet Tutorial

You say jump and I say how high, you say bracelet tutorial and I say how many pictures do you want, you say...ok ok I've had enough of your demands. Take the tutorial and be happy you greedy readers you.

Disclaimer: This is one of my firsts tutorials so I'm not the best at writing directions yet, if you have any questions ask away!

You'll Need:
Jersey fabric ( I used scraps from a t-shirt after making this t-shirt scarf)
Super Glue
Tape
Acrylic paint and paintbrush (if you choose to jazz up your bracelet, I mean come on who doesn't like shiny things?)

1. If you are using scraps from a t-shirt cut the sleeve of the shirt off removing the hem as well. If you're just using jersey fabric then you'll need about a 10"X5" rectangle. Then cut the seam of the sleeve on the underarm, this will give you one rectangle of fabric instead of the loop.
2. Then paint your fabric any fancy color you see fit. I liked gold because I think my hearts desire is to some day morph into a modern version of cleopatra...she wore a lot of gold didn't she?
3. Then on an extra scrap of fabric, paint a 2"X3" rectangle (This will be the piece that ties the bracelet together)
4. After your paint has dried cut your large rectangle into 4 pieces of fabric. Mine turned out to be about 1" thick each.  After you cut them pull on the fabric and it will roll into little cylinders.
5.  Separate your pieces into two and then tape them together  vertically making one long strand. After you have done this follow this video to tie the knot. I will now leave you to tie your little hearts out.
6. After you tie the knot (please don't go get married for this tutorial) it should look something like this
7. If your knot looks like the above continue, if not then go get some ice cream to re-gather your confidence and then try again. Remove the tape and your knot should look like this
8. Then using the super glue, glue together each set of two strands.
9. Then glue the strands next to each other together. (Once this is done if you're anything like me you'll be chewing that super glue off your fingers for about an hour.)
10. Then cut out your 2X3 rectangle of  scrap fabric. Hold each end of the bracelet together and wrap the rectangle around the bracelet and then super glue. It should look something like this.
And you're done!!!!!! Go celebrate your bangin bracelet with some more glue chewing and ice cream eating!

Under The Sea

Okay it has been blazing hot here in the U.T. and due to this fact I've refused to wear clothes. Have no fear the pictures below are not of my new non clothes wearing joy. After running around the house in my skivies last night my husband has forced me to get dressed. The next best thing to being in my skivies is definitely a skirt. I'd honestly prefer it over shorts any day. You look cuter and there's also air circulation. Am I right or am I right.

My sister in law is coming into town with her niece and nephew this weekend! I'm so excited. Last time I saw my niece she was convinced that I was a princess. It was my wedding so in her defense....I DID LOOK LIKE A PRINCESS! Hopefully this time she'll still recognize me, even without the big white dress.I'll just wear my wedding dress so she'll know who I am, after all I've got to get my thousand dollars out of that dress some time. What can I say I know how to look classy.

After taking my pictures my trusty Matt wanted you guys to know he looked good today too. After asking him where his outfit was from he gave a, " Jeans, my mom bought them. Shirt, I bought it." I don't think he's gonna make the cut.

Thrifty Thursday

I love Thrifty Thursday because it always gives me a reason to go thrift store shopping. I really do go shopping for you and you alone dear readers. I loved this thrift find this week. The skirt was handmade and isn't quite red it has a little orange to it. Just the kind of retro feel I was looking for. I Paired that with a thin belt that someone at TJ Maxx gave me because it didn't match anything, a $9 dollar Forever 21 shirt and my Grandma's pin that she gave me. I also found another AMAZAZAZING find but that will just have to wait until next thrifty Thursday.

Do you guys ever feel like you've conquered the world after thrift store shopping? After realizing that I had spent like 7 smackaroonies on a bag of pure treasure I couldn't help but feel the sweet sting of success. I think I have a serious problem here...
