Disclaimer: This is one of my firsts tutorials so I'm not the best at writing directions yet, if you have any questions ask away!
You'll Need:
Jersey fabric ( I used scraps from a t-shirt after making this t-shirt scarf)
Super Glue
Tape
Acrylic paint and paintbrush (if you choose to jazz up your bracelet, I mean come on who doesn't like shiny things?)
1. If you are using scraps from a t-shirt cut the sleeve of the shirt off removing the hem as well. If you're just using jersey fabric then you'll need about a 10"X5" rectangle. Then cut the seam of the sleeve on the underarm, this will give you one rectangle of fabric instead of the loop.
2. Then paint your fabric any fancy color you see fit. I liked gold because I think my hearts desire is to some day morph into a modern version of cleopatra...she wore a lot of gold didn't she?
3. Then on an extra scrap of fabric, paint a 2"X3" rectangle (This will be the piece that ties the bracelet together)
4. After your paint has dried cut your large rectangle into 4 pieces of fabric. Mine turned out to be about 1" thick each. After you cut them pull on the fabric and it will roll into little cylinders.
5. Separate your pieces into two and then tape them together vertically making one long strand. After you have done this follow this video to tie the knot. I will now leave you to tie your little hearts out.
6. After you tie the knot (please don't go get married for this tutorial) it should look something like this
7. If your knot looks like the above continue, if not then go get some ice cream to re-gather your confidence and then try again. Remove the tape and your knot should look like this
8. Then using the super glue, glue together each set of two strands.
9. Then glue the strands next to each other together. (Once this is done if you're anything like me you'll be chewing that super glue off your fingers for about an hour.)
10. Then cut out your 2X3 rectangle of scrap fabric. Hold each end of the bracelet together and wrap the rectangle around the bracelet and then super glue. It should look something like this.
And you're done!!!!!! Go celebrate your bangin bracelet with some more glue chewing and ice cream eating!
Wow - thats great - I think I would make a horrible mess if I tried to do it though LOL
