A Go Go Go

Dress: Thrifted, Belt: Thrifted, Boots: c/o CSN.com

Ever venture into the dark abyss that is your closet and fall out looking like a gogo dancer. You've been having that problem lately too? It's like those high pumps and trippy shape patterned items are just screaming at me to get out. As usual Colorado included some awesome thrift store shopping and this dress was $3. Come on three dollars for the chance to call myself peppermint for a day and twist it like I'm in the sixties....so worth it right?

P.S. It's my sisters birthday today!!!  She's one of my best friends and one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet.
Come on look at that face, who couldn't love that?? Happy Birthday Me-Chelle!

Oh Sweet Denver

Blouse: Target, Skirt: Made by Me, Belt: Thrifted, Boots: Vintage thrifted

Me and Matt went to Denver this weekend to see our good friend Dan that just got back from a mission in the Marshall Islands. Matt and Dan had some video game and pizza man time which meant I got to go party it up with my sisters! We went to some fun boutiques and a seriously awesome vintage store called Boss where my sis Jen may have gotten me a dress from the forty's for my birthday... that's in seven months. Hey when you find the perfect birthday gift you've got to go for it right?! Then we went to one of my sis' favorite restaurants Spicy Basil with my fasha. Can you believe he finished that humongous plate? He's always been our trash disposal at dinner, whatever we can't finish we just pass it on to him and next thing you know the food is gone. It's like magic. Now you see it and now you don't.

Guess what I came back to after our girly shopping trip. Matt and Dan dyeing each others hair. Looks like I wasn't the only one that had some girly bonding time :)

Berries and Cream

Skirt: Courtesy of Hourglass Boutique, Belt: JC Penny, Blouse: Thrifted (Ralph Lauren), Necklace: F21

Well hello you light and breezy day. Whenever I say light and breezy it makes me think of this video.

Just thought you should know.
Disclaimer: (Watch the video or the rest of this post will make absolutely  no sense, or just play the guessing game of what we're talking about, that could be fun)
Me and Sir Matt were doing this dance the other night before we went to bed. It went as such,
Me: "Okay you try it first",
Matt: "Berries and Cream, Berries and Cream...(this is where he gets way too  focused and can't talk anymore" "Okay you go"
Me: "Easy Peezy! Nice and Easy!"
Matt: "No Sarah, the dance part"
Me: "Oh...well can I do it as a rap?"
Matt: " Eh okay"
Me: "I GOTS my berries and cream! I GOTS my berries and cream, holla holla if you gots yo berries and cream. WORD!" (all the while doing the elf dance)
Matt: "Please never try that again."

Just thought Overheard Friday might be a bit of fun if you could overhear a bit of me and Sir Matt's life:)

Happy Weekend All! We're headed to Colorado to visit some friends, I'm sure you'll be hearing all about it next week!

Womp womp womp

Ever try to go take pictures and they just turn out completely womp womp womp...
Outfit: Vest: Thrifted, Other vest: Kohl's, Shirt: Target, Jeggings: Charlotte Russe, Shoes: Thrifted

Lets talk truth with each other now. Sometimes I look at other blogs and think, man they look PERFECT all the time. What's the deal? I must say I'm not a fan of all of the portrayal of perfection on blogs because guess what WE'RE HUMAN AND IT'S GREAT!

This morning I woke up with fifteen minutes to get to class, threw on a lot of layers of clothing, tied my greasy hair back in a pony tail and scooted my butt to class as fast as I could.  I'm not perfect so I don't need to pretend to be perfect, nor look perfect everyday. And today just was not my day. So to celebrate my unperfect, scatterbrained self I took pictures of it.Here's to being a normal every day person!

I gave some of my magical thrifting tips to Harley and Jane this week, you can check it out here.

Word Dog, AWK to the WORD

Blouse: Target, Skirt: Made by me, Belt: Thrifted, Necklace: Vintage Thrifted, Shoes: Thrifted

I propose that there's nothing more awkward than your skirt flying in the wind. You're taking baby steps so as not to recreate a Marilyn Monroe but inevitably there's one step that's a little to flambouyant and your skirt pops up. You're knees bang together like you have to pee all the while you completely stop moving and hold your skirt down, grasping at it with both hands. Meanwhile some old guy who isn't looking where he's going runs into you because of your sudden stop making you feel all the more of a doofus. Yeah this was my whole day yesterday, over and over again. Stop. walk. cling to skirt for dear life. stop. walk, whoops sorry did you just see my skivies my bad. I've had enough embarrassment for one day so I think I'm going to play it safe tomorrow, and the safest bet of all are overalls, there's no letting those things get out of your sight. They're hooked up to your dang shoulders.

Speaking of overalls I saw a guy on campus today with overalls on and a red tie. I'm not sure if he was serious because he had a funny smirk on his face that screamed, "DON'T YOU THINK I'M SO FUNNY FOR WEARING A TIE WITH MY OVERALLS!" Either way I applaud him. Not only did he tell that terrible wind to shove it with his buckled up pants but he looked confident doing it.

Smirky Overall Man, I salute you.

Kyle and Emily Are Getting Married!

So I kind of have a confession to make. I'm a closet photographer, I'm not by any means a seasoned pro but I really really love it. My friends Kyle and Em asked me to take their engagements and I was thrilled. Me and Sir Matt absolutely adore these guys and we're so happy they found each other, they're absolutely perfect together. And it doesn't hurt that we're gaining some new married besties. Here's how the shoot went.
Congrats guys me and Matt are so so happy for you!

For Japan With Love

My prayers, my heart, and my love is with Japan right now.

I just have one thing to say, and you can agree or disagree but at least take a look at yourself and ask if there is anything more you can do. Most of you that read this are fashion bloggers. Let's face it, if we're well off enough to be concerned about not repeating clothes too often then we have something to give, much to give. I challenge you to take what you might spend on your fashion hobby this week and donate it to Japan. There are people that need help. And we can do something.

Let's all find a way to help. Even if it's small you can make a difference. If you're looking for a reliable place to donate go to forjapanwithlove.com. As for me, there won't be a post tomorrow to support the day of silence for Japan.

Happy St Patty's Day To Ya!

Skirt: Target, Blouse: Thrifted (Hollister), Belt: F21, Pin: Handmade, Shoes: Thrifted (Nordstrom)

Me and Sir Matt happen to have some besties that have their birthdays on both St. Patty's and Valentines so we party it up on the holidays, this St. Patty's my girl April had a party for her main squeeze Andrew (okay so he's her husband but main squeeze sounds legit right?)

(Brittney & Minta if you see this I.am.lame. I'm sorry I didn't snag pictures of you and your dudes, I am forever indebted to you....okay so maybe I'll just bake ya some cookies or something.)

Happy St. Patty's Everyone!

Revival Files: St Patty's Day Decoration

I've been wanting to make a St. Patrick's day decoration but a lot of them seemed really dated to me, so of course as I was downing my daily Nutella, I got the idea for making this from an old frame I had. All I did was spray paint the frame and make some felt bows from this tutorial and then I glued them to some paper. Yayyyy for completely free decorations!

Will You Be My Dough Boy?

We went out with some friends for dinner and found the cutest most delicious little place ever. Behold the glory of Flour Girls and Dough Boys. If you're in Utah you definitely have to try this place out.
I have to admit that if I get a dessert cupcakes are not my first choice but these cupcakes are DIVINE. They're moist, have awesome frosting, delicious filling and are seriously way better than any other cupcakes I've had.
I tried the Ogre. It has a peanut butter filling, with Oreos and gummy worms on the top of a delicious peanut butter cream cheese frosting....ohhhh sweet heaven.
Loved it. Sir Matt had to drag me out of that place kicking and screaming as I grasped at all of the cookies and cupcakes, you know the usual for my bakery visits. Here's the website, go there, noooo run there, then eat everything in there because it's all friggin' delicious.

Hair Poo

Jeans: TJ Maxx, Blouse: TJ Maxx, Sweater: Swapped (BCBG), Necklace: Gifted, Shoes: Thrifted (Nordstrom), Belt: Thrifted
The verdict is out from Friday's Hair Poo...woops meant hair do. It was poop, and that is what happens when you take risks, sometimes you fall flat on your face and end up looking like Minnie Mouse all day and all your awesome blog friends have to tell you that your hair looks like animal ears. Thanks for the honesty guys, I can always count on you.
I feel like we just reached the deep level sixteen of this blogship, you are now accountable for notifying me of any spinach in my teeth, hangy boogers and garlic breath you know the works. Hey hey I'm sorry once you go level sixteen there's no going back, wait until you make it to level twenty...I'm not giving away any secrets here but level twenty is full of wiping tears and possibly being the surrogate in the case I need someone to bear my children. Don't say I didn't warn you:)

Why Did the Frisky Old Man Cross The Road?

Outfit: Vest: Swapped (American Eagle), Blouse: Target, Skirt: Thrifted and revive, Belt: Swapped, Shoes: Thrifted

I gave it my all at making a little hair bow well....out of my hair. What do you guys think? Do again...not so much? Sarah it looks like you're wearing a creepy hair bow on your head, never ever try that again?

There was an awesome clothing swap on campus this week. I went and scored the vest and belt and a few other lovelies that you will just have to wait to see. I propose that there may be nothing better than donating clothes you hate to get clothes you love. What do you guys think, would you be interested in an online swap?

I have a few Overheard Friday goods for you:
Exhibit A: Pineapple heard this in a Target dressing room: "Oh mommy, your butt's too big."

The sweet joys of chilren and their brutal honesty.

Exhibit B: Lady not so s.m.r.t and blushing boy at the movies, "Hey Tangled is on both at 7:00 and 7:15....is the movie fifteen minutes long?"

-Oh my sweet innocent girl, looks like he should take you home at 7:15 instead.

Exhibit C: I'm riding home from school and am at the crosswalk stop just in time to see this little encounter, Police officer to a frisky old man carrying a long board, Police Officer: "Hey buddy I'm looking you straight in the eyes so now I can see if you'll try and make any faces." Frisky old man carrying a long board, "I don't like the tone of your voice, maybe you should calm down."

-I know you don't believe me but really...could I lie about something like this. The police officer called for backup.
If you want what you overhear featured send me an e-mail! Happy Weekend Everyone.
