Lets talk truth with each other now. Sometimes I look at other blogs and think, man they look PERFECT all the time. What's the deal? I must say I'm not a fan of all of the portrayal of perfection on blogs because guess what WE'RE HUMAN AND IT'S GREAT!
This morning I woke up with fifteen minutes to get to class, threw on a lot of layers of clothing, tied my greasy hair back in a pony tail and scooted my butt to class as fast as I could. I'm not perfect so I don't need to pretend to be perfect, nor look perfect everyday. And today just was not my day. So to celebrate my unperfect, scatterbrained self I took pictures of it.Here's to being a normal every day person!
I gave some of my magical thrifting tips to Harley and Jane this week, you can check it out here.
i love the plaid vest and your flower is so cute!

Steffys Pros and Cons
Yay for being a normal everyday person. I agree, I sometimes get depressed looking at perfect blogs. Hope you have a great day :)
ReplyDeleteTrust me - my blog is far from perfect! Case in point? Yesterday I was wearing white sweat socks with a dress. Yes, a casual dress, but I don't quite know how I missed that I was still wearing them at outfit picture time... they're pretty obvious. When I realized it, I thought about issuing an edit apologizing or at least being like: "I know it doesn't work" but then I thought: "I'm tired" and "it's my blog and I'll wear white sweatsocks if I want to!"
ReplyDeleteFor running late, you look amazingly pulled together!
This post made me giggle! I too woke up feeling like I look like crap today...I'm just accepting it and getting on with my day, lol. Thanks for making me smile!

I feel glad knowing that you definitely don't feel that when looking at my blog. : P
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love the sitting pictures! Very cute. And you can still see the outfit, and that's the point, right? Right.
Kudos to you :-) Don't we all fail to mention the fact that it takes countless shots some days until something at least decent emerges? Well, I do sometimes ;-) I guess it's the elephant in the room: Everyone knows it's there but no one talks about it, haha!
ReplyDeleteThat said, I think you look pretty cute on your off days ;-)

I love your layers and love your realness! It's so refreshing to see people be themselves, good or bad, on their blogs. But seriously, are your outfits ever bad? Doubt it. :)

I had one of those days the other day. You just sort of go with the flow. I somehow ended up looking like a ghost in all of my pictures.

I only have 1 minute tops to take pictures or the kids start pounding on the picture window for mommy to come back in. So, yeah, most of my pictures definitely fall into the "eh" category. :)

I agree we are all human and sometimes we need to show that in our pictures. So I love every photograph plus your print mixing is pretty wonderful!!
ReplyDeletethanks for being real and for making me smile. I feel the same way reading the blogs. I think we all want to put the best version of ourselves out there. However, you are so right that we have to accept and embrace that we are not perfect :)

I don't believe in perfect and I love your blog the way it is. I also love this outfit. That fact that you threw that together and look so cute all under 15 min is insanely awesome. Love the look and the shoes.
