Tis the season to give to a good cause..isn't that what Santa says? One thing that always gets me in the Christmas spirit is giving service to those in need, really though, doesn't it just give you the warm fuzzies? There's really something magical about completely forgetting yourself and trying to help others out. So this week my friend Claire told me about how she's selling her handmade jewelry for a good cause and I was so excited to let you guys know about it. Claire is having a giant jewelry extravaganza where she's selling jewelry that she's handmade herself and donating the proceeds to The Caring Place Cancer Center. How cool is that?! She's doing it in honor of her aunt who is now in remission. So here's where you guys come in. First of all, she wants to give away this necklace I'm wearing to one of you! And invite you all to come to her jewelry extravaganza here in Orem Utah this weekend. Can't make it? That's totally fine, you can still make a difference! I'll be taking donations for the Caring Place Cancer Center all weekend so just e-mail me and I'll get you all set up. Even if it's just a dollar every bit helps. If you would like to buy some awesome jewelry for a great cause here's Claire's post all about the event. As far as the giveaway, just leave a comment below the post telling us who your hero is and why you'd like to give them this necklace. The giveaway will close Sunday night and we'll announce the winner Monday. Good luck guys!

this is such a heart warming post :) I can't make it to Utah, since I live in Belgium, but that's ok. One of my dearest friends lost her dad last february. He had bonecancer and was actually said to be healed. But he relapsed and it all went really quickly. Two weeks before he had driven us back home from school after we wrapped up our last exams for the semester. My friend was so brave and strong during this hard time and I really admire her for her strength and her courage. She worked really hard that year, grieving and still trying to pass that year with good grades. If I were to win this necklace. I'd give it to her. To let her know I still think obout her father and about how hard it was, is, for her and her family.
ReplyDeleteClaire is amazing for doing this!
Much love,
Nikki
My hero is my mom. She's been through so much in her life, including losing her brother to cancer recently. She would love this necklace and she is certainly deserving.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great cause!
these gold pants are amazing. super chic!
ReplyDeleteThat is an amazing cause you're supporting! So happy to see there are still people out there that realize what the holiday season is really about
My hero is my mother. She has inspired me to become who I want to be; I want to grow up to be just like her!
ReplyDeleteWith my mom passing away from cancer this year, my oldest sister had to assume the role of 'leading lady' amongst our family. She has a family of her own and still manages to help my dad care for me and my other sisters. I am amazed by how strong and courageous she's been while we've all been going through such a hard time. She almost always puts others first, and she inspires me to be a woman of God. She has been working so hard to lessen the grief of our first Christmas without Mom, and I'd love to give her something extra special. :)
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great cause, and such a good idea to DIY to raise money! Please let me know if its okay for me to repost this on my blogg! ( www.makeitandfakeit.com )
On a completely different and way more shallow note, I love your lipstick, what color is it?
love K
I would love to give this necklace to my mom! She is such a caring, service-oriented person and would love the meaning behind it! PS: your blog is my favorite. which makes you my favorite. creepy? maybe. but thats ok.
ReplyDeleteWhere's your jacket from?? You didn't post!
ReplyDeleteto my sister. she has been going through a rough patch lately but has been holding her head up high and making the best of a not ideal situation.

My mom because she wouldn't actually wear the necklace and then I would get it! haha just kidding. I would actually choose the lady who lives across the street. She is the nicest person and always willing to help me when I'm feeling overwhelmed, even when her husband was out of town and she had to wrangle her 3 kids by herself. She is truly amazing and this necklace is much more her style than my mom's. :)
ReplyDeleteyou pretty little skinny girl :)

my hero is also my mother, but she doesn't like wearing jewelry (even though she's a real 'free spirit', which doesn't make sense to me) so she would then give it back to me- which just would further her heroism in my mind. :)
ReplyDeleteMy mom. She is amazing and just went through her own battle, except it was kidneys. She would love this necklace.
ReplyDeleteMy hero is definitely my mom! I'd give it to her because I'd love to give her a little something extra for Christmas and because she deserves it. Plain and simple as that. :)
ReplyDeletemy hero is my brother, but he probably won't wear the necklace...
ReplyDeleteSo i'll stick with my Mom, She is the classiest and kindest woman i know, i'd give it to her!

my big sister is my hero. she is always there for me. shes my best friend! she would love this necklace!
ReplyDeleteYour outfit is super cute, as usual!
ReplyDeleteAnd as for my hero: my mom, hands down. She is amazing. I want to be just like her when I grow up.
What a super amazing giveaway! Your friend Claire is such an angel for doing something so cool to help out those suffering with a disease that is so so scary!

My hero is my mother because when I was diagnosed with cancer, she stood by me even when it was hard on her. She flew across the country, even when finances were hard, to be with me during my first surgery. She was then diagnosed with a brain tumor just after I was, and had to have surgery- but she never complained, not once, because she knew I was having a hard time. She is the ultimate role model and I respect her so much for all the sacrifices she makes to make my life easier. Now, she and I are both cancer survivors and we find strength in each other. She is deserving of this necklace and so much more. She deserves the world, because she's been the world to me.
ReplyDeleteHero: My grandma who lives in Japan. she's 72... widowed... yet SUCH an amazing, sweet, and wonderful lady. I miss her so so much ):
ReplyDeletei love your pants!! perf color!
