You'll Need:
Jersey Fabric (or an old t shirt)
Scissors
Paint (if you want to give your necklace some pizzaz)
1. Take the body of your t shirt and cut it in half and then paint it any which way you want. (I'm addicted to all things that look tacky...GOLD BABY!)

2. Cut your jersey into 1 inch strips
3. Pull tightly on each jersey piece making it into small cylinders. They should look like this. Then set aside one piece (this will be used to tie the necklace together)
4. Lay each strip out and cut the length of the strands so that they are each different lengths. I cut my strands in 1 inch length increments.
5. Overlap the two ends of the necklace and while holding them together use the piece of jersey that you set aside to wrap around the necklace. Once it is wrapped around tuck the strand and tie it in a knot around one of the jersey pieces.
6. Sit back and stare at your creation in awe!
What a pretty blog :)) I would really appreciate you visiting mine - I think (and hope! :)) you will really like it :)

ReplyDeletethis is such a cute diy! i think i might try it
ReplyDeleteand to answer your question about the flower headband. it's really simple. all you need to do is cute a three inch wide strip of fabric, fold it in half, then hand sew the edges together. the trick is not to knot one of the end. the end you dont knot you pull on the thread and push the fabric together to make a ruffle. Then you roll the ruffle together and sew (or hot glue) the bottom together.
aww such a great idea!! :)
