When I'm having an off day most days I can attribute my craziness due to the fact that I was raised in the 90's. Let's think about this for a sec and maybe it shall all make sense to you too.
1. My biggest dream for my life was to have one of those inflatable couches in my room. Dream came true and then suddenly deflated (HA!) when my dog bit my brand new hot pink sofa. Come on, you know exactly which couches I'm talking about.
2. Slap bracelets were bomb.dot.com. If you didn't have one then really..what was your purpose in life?
3. I spent most of my time wondering if my Gigga pet had enough to eat....or if it might just inexplicably die tomorrow. Or were you one of those people with a Furby instead? I had nightmares of those things for years!
4. When I wasn't feeding my virtual pet I was jamming out to Spice World and wondering if I was more of the scary spice or sporty spice type (puhleaase, is there even a question, sporty spice wins every time).
5. If acid jeans weren't cool, than life had no meaning.
Oh 90's how I miss you.
LOVE the new layout! Also, I never had a Furby or a Giga pet because I found myself irresponsible to take care of someone else (which is ironic since I now have three kids . . . and scary . . . but I remember to feed them).
ReplyDeleteI love your skirt and tights! YOU look the bomb.dot.com!
Also, I'll take your 90's one step further and add that it was a guarantee that every Friday night I was watching the old school TGIF lineup (Full House, Step by Step and Family Matters). Oh yeah!
hahaha LOVE this and your new layout, too, by the way! I was a little too interested in my Gigga and I sadly was given a Furby at Christmas and one night it started talking while I had it stuffed away at the top of my closet....scared the crap out of me, those things were demons!! Oh, and I had a neon green inflatable chair, so classy! hah
ReplyDeletei love the new look of your blog! it's adorable! and your outfit is to die for!!

thank you, THANK YOU for just reminding me of giga pets (I also had a nano baby). amazing.
ReplyDeleteLovely outfit! I really like how you paired the skirt with maroon tights....that's something I would never have thought to put together.
ReplyDeleteMan I miss those days too...I actually went outside and played before the days I got the gameboy color lol (those things were huge). I was definitely a gigapet person (furbies were weird!) but I could never feed the thing on time or something so it was hard for me to grow it up to adulthood hahahah.
Gigga pets!!! mine always died because they pooped too much. :( but now I am thinking I really might go to wal-mart and try to find one!
ReplyDeletePS I was a Gigga pet AND furby person. My furby would start talking in the middle of the night all the time... talk about night mares.

ReplyDeleteI remember that gigga pets weren't allowed at school and my friends would say that their moms would babysit their gigga pets for them. I was jealous because I knew my mom would never do that, haha.
That skirt is incredible! & your lipstick color looks great on you! I was not necessarily raised in the 90's , more like the 80's but I still know what you are talking about :)

Love the new layout! It's magnificent!
ReplyDeleteAnd I always wanted one of those couches.
Loved those slap bracelets (didjya know they're back in style?!)
LOVED my gigga pet!
That second shot is magazine material! Gorgeous. :)
ReplyDeleteI managed to keep my couch intact for more than 3 months. Yes. Thank you, thank you. The applause is completely welcome.
ReplyDeletei'm love the pattern on your blog background.
ReplyDeletethis look is so adorable on you too!

Lovin' the new layout,Sar!
ReplyDeleteAnd I am obsessed with your skirt.
hahaha love it! the red lipstick looks gorgeous on you too, very pretty x
ReplyDelete1. I had one of those inflatable couches... mine was clear with colorful feathers inside! That thing was never very comfortable though.
ReplyDelete2. I was actually thinking about those slap bracelets recently; apparently there's a company that makes slap watches now! (I kinda want one)
3. I had a furby. My brother and sister did too... 3 furbies. Those things were definitely creepy. I always preferred my Tamagotchi.
... I wasn't ever into the Spice Girls or acid wash jeans, but I definitely remember loving 90s Nickelodeon shows (like Are You Afraid of the Dark) and PBS! (Wishbone!)... and I had a pair of dyed denim American flag jeans. I miss those.
Ah, children of the nineties.
I love the 90s! I remember those slap braces and the tattoo chokers. I hated Furbies, my sisters had them and they scared me. I did go through a few gigapets though! :)

Furbies were so creepy! And I used to scare my mom with those trolls. Also, TV was much better back then - what is up with Nickelodeon nowadays? What ever happened to Pete and Pete, and Salute Your Shorts, and Alex Mack?
ReplyDeleteYep! I totally relate. I had a Furby, a Giga Pet and listened to the Spice Girls too! Anytime I hear an "oldie" on the radio its like a blast from the past. Love the floaty top with that skirt. And the tights are an unexpected twist but it works!
ReplyDeleteI miss the 90's too! Gigga pet's were boss. I had a doggy. Loved it! Slap bracelets are coming back, no? Even though the 90's are behind us, I can count on my favorite 90's music to take me back to that time. Cranberry's, Alanis Morisette, Spice girls... the list goes on!
ReplyDeleteOOH WOW, WELL HELLO THERE GORGEOUS :)
ReplyDeletelove the new look of the blog :)

Baha! This is awesome! I always wanted one of those couches too! I never had one though. My friend did so I had to live vicariously through her! Haha. And I LOVE your outfit. The red belt and tights are awesome!
ReplyDeleteI had a Tamagotchi and some hippie patchwork dunagrees (er, "overalls" to you, I beleive).
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love that Blossom is now in the Big Bang Theory? It's like being reunited with my old best friend (although we all know Six was secretly much cooler than Blossom).
Oh my gosh I LOVE the new layout!! SOOOO CUTE!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your hair. Is it naturally wavy like that? I have pin straight hair and have been looking for a way to get a natural curly wave look like this! How do you do it???
ReplyDeletelol the 90's rocked. We're friends now, right? Then you won't mind if I steal your skirt, right? Seriously, it's so cute!
ReplyDeleteyaay 90's!!!! also i thoroughly enjoy your new blog design!
ReplyDeletei was all about the tamagotchi. pretty sure i figured i'd make an excellent mom because raising one of those little guys was a breeze. until they pooped all over the screen and it was impossible to clean it all up so you just let it die. furbys! i got one for christmas one year. i can't believe my parents bought me one. it never knew when to shut up. or maybe it was i never knew when to stop playing with it.
ReplyDeleteI was a huge Tamogatchi fan personally :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm not lying, I recently bought one of those old-school virtual pets from eBay to have one for my kids ;)
Omg, I had pink one of these: http://www.bubblefurniture.com/kids_original_chairs.html but my sister jumped on it and broke is =[ such a meanie.
ReplyDeleteP.S. The Spice Girls were (and totes still are) awesome, I was always Baby Spice.
That describes my exact life in the 90's! My best friend in the 4th grade had a blow up couch and we always thought we were so cool with our acid jeans. And i remember my sister and I playing with our Gigga pets and making fun of the kids with furby's. I probably owned like 10 slap bracelets. Love it.
